The MacBook Pro, MacBook, and Mac Pro that launched this era carried the Mac through the rise of the iPhone and iPad, culminating in the unibody aluminum construction and Retina displays that debuted on the MacBook Pro in 2012 — manufacturing techniques that would define nearly every Mac laptop for the next decade.
