Mac LC

The Macintosh LC family, starting with the original LC in 1990, was Apple's attempt to bring color and NuBus-adjacent expansion down to a price schools and home users could actually afford. Its flat 'pizza box' case became a fixture in classrooms throughout the early '90s.

The LC II and LC III that followed kept nudging the processor and memory ceiling upward without changing the formula much, and together they're a good snapshot of how Apple tried to hold onto the education market as PC prices kept falling around it.
