iPod touch (7th generation)

The last iPod. Apple updated the touch in May 2019 with the A10 Fusion from the iPhone 7, kept the 4-inch body it had been using since 2012, and priced it at $199 for 32GB. It was enough for group FaceTime and augmented reality, which was the pitch, and it was mostly bought for children and for use as a dedicated music or point-of-sale device. Apple discontinued it on May 10, 2022, ending twenty-one years of iPod. The announcement said the experience had been integrated across the rest of the products, which is true and also means the phone ate it. Remaining stock sold out within days at well over list price.
