The last nano: a 2.5-inch touchscreen, a home button, Bluetooth and Lightning, on sale for five years almost unchanged.
Released October 11, 2012 · Discontinued July 27, 2017 · From $149 (16 GB)

The last nano, and the one that finally looked like a small iPhone. A 2.5-inch multi-touch screen, a home button, Bluetooth, a Lightning connector, and a body 5.4mm thick in seven colors. It played video properly. It took Nike+ fitness data without an extra sensor and paired with wireless headphones, which is the one thing every previous nano could not do. Apple kept it on sale for five years with one color refresh and no other changes, then discontinued it in July 2017 alongside the shuffle, ending every iPod except the touch in a single announcement.
The final nano returned to the tall pill shape and added Bluetooth, which reviewers found hard to get excited about.
While the seventh iPod nano improves upon its immediate predecessor, it's hard to see as great.
