The largest iPhone Apple had built, 6.5 inches of OLED in a body barely bigger than the 8 Plus.
Released September 21, 2018 · Discontinued September 10, 2019 · From $1,099 (64 GB, unlocked)

The XS Max is the largest iPhone Apple had built. 6.5 inches of OLED at 2688x1242, in a body barely bigger than the 8 Plus it replaced, which is what removing the bezels bought you. Everything else matched the XS: A12 Bionic on 7nm, Smart HDR, Depth Control, dual 12-megapixel cameras, IP68 and dual-SIM. The battery went to 3174 mAh and lasted about an hour and a half longer. At $1,099 it was the most expensive iPhone yet, and Apple sold a great many of them to people who had been buying Plus models since 2014 and wanted the screen without the chin. It lasted one year. The 11 Pro Max replaced it in September 2019.
The XS Max shared its review with the XS, differing in the 6.5-inch panel and the battery behind it.
