Aluminum unibody with vapor chamber cooling replaces titanium, and all three cameras go to 48 MP with 8x telephoto reach.

Apple went back to aluminum. After two years of titanium the 17 Pro uses a unibody aluminum frame with a vapor chamber for cooling, which conducts heat better and lets the A19 Pro hold its clocks for longer under load. The camera plateau now runs the full width of the back. All three cameras are 48 megapixels for the first time, the telephoto reaching 8x at a 200mm equivalent through sensor cropping, and the front camera is the same 18-megapixel Center Stage square sensor as the standard 17. It charges to 50 percent in 20 minutes and runs 33 hours of video.
The aluminum unibody, vapor chamber cooling and three 48-megapixel cameras made this the most substantial Pro redesign in years.
The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are a significant update from previous models, and I haven't felt this excited by a new generation of iPhones in a very long time.
It might burn up your wallet, since the $1,099 price is certainly not something everyone can afford, but it does buy some security and longevity.
