iPhone 16 Plus
The 6.7-inch iPhone 16, with the largest battery Apple had put in a non-Pro iPhone at 4674 mAh.
Released September 20, 2024 · From $899 (128 GB, unlocked)
A 16 with a 6.7-inch screen and a 4674 mAh battery, the largest Apple had put in a non-Pro iPhone, good for 27 hours of video. Camera Control, the Action button, the A18, Wi-Fi 7 and 8GB of RAM all carry over from the 16. It shoots spatial video too. It is the cheapest way into a large modern iPhone at $899, and the trade against the 16 Pro Max is the usual one: no ProMotion, no always-on, no telephoto, no titanium.
Reviews & Reception
Reviewers saw the gap between the standard iPhone and the Pro narrowing this generation.
With the iPhone 16, Apple has almost closed the gap between its best phone for most people and the one intended for the most demanding power users.
For this reason, the regular iPhone will likely suit your needs just fine, since splurging on the high-end model has become more of an indulgence than a necessity.
