28 hours of video playback, and the first Pro Max whose cameras matched the smaller Pro exactly.
Released September 24, 2021 · Discontinued September 7, 2022 · From $1,099 (128 GB, unlocked)

The 13 Pro Max got everything the 13 Pro got. It also got a battery that would not quit. 4352 mAh behind a 6.7-inch ProMotion OLED gave 28 hours of video playback, the longest Apple had ever claimed for an iPhone and, unusually, a figure reviewers found conservative. Camera hardware matched the 13 Pro exactly for the first time since the pattern started: same 77mm telephoto, same f/1.5 wide with sensor-shift stabilization, same ultra-wide with autofocus and macro. Buying the larger phone no longer meant buying the better camera. ProRes video followed in iOS 15.1, capped at 1080p 30 on the 128GB model for the simple reason that the files are enormous. It weighed 240 grams.
The Pro Max shared its review with the 13 Pro, and its weight drew comment alongside its battery life.
