iPhone 13 mini

The last small iPhone. Fixed the 12 mini's battery, kept everything else, and still did not sell well enough to survive.

iPhone 13 mini

The second and last small iPhone. Apple fixed the 12 mini's worst problem by fitting a 2438 mAh battery where the 12 mini had 2227, which bought about an hour and a half more use and made the phone genuinely viable for a normal day. It also got the smaller notch, the A15 Bionic, the diagonal cameras with sensor-shift stabilization, and 128GB of base storage. It still did not sell. Apple discontinued the mini after this generation and put a 6.7-inch Plus in the slot instead, which tells you which way the demand actually ran. For anyone who wanted a phone that fitted in one hand, this is the best one ever made and the last chance to buy one new.

Reviews & Reception

Engadget reviewed the 13 and 13 mini together; the mini gained about ninety minutes of battery over its predecessor.

While this year's iPhones aren't major improvements over their predecessors, they offer just enough changes that might tempt you to upgrade, particularly if you're still on an iPhone 11 or older.

But, as expected, they're excellent phones with little to complain about.
