iPad Pro (9.7-inch)

The small Pro, which got True Tone, P3 color and a better camera than the 12.9-inch model, and half the memory.

Released March 31, 2016 · Discontinued June 5, 2017 · From $599 (32 GB, Wi-Fi)

iPad Pro (9.7-inch)

A Pro that fitted one hand. Apple shrank the 12.9-inch Pro to 9.7 inches and, unusually, gave the smaller model things the larger one did not have: True Tone, which shifts the display's white balance to match the light in the room, a wider P3 color gamut, and a much better 12-megapixel camera with a flash. The screen also reflected less light than any tablet before it, which is the quietest good thing Apple shipped that year. What it gave up was memory, at 2GB against the 12.9-inch model's 4, which showed the moment you kept a lot of Safari tabs open. This is the iPad Pro that made the Pro line about more than size.

Reviews & Reception

Pro power in the Air 2 body, and reviewers still would not call it a laptop replacement.

This is one the best tablets you can buy.
